ТУЛГУУР / Working prototype

From two hours of
handwritten calculations
to a working prototype.

My civil engineer partner spends about two hours completing a three-page calculation to determine column reinforcement using the strong column, weak beam principle.

We’re building ТУЛГУУР to automate that workflow. He brings the engineering knowledge and checks the results. I work with AI to turn the process into software.

01 / The tool

What the prototype does

  • Takes beam and column dimensions, reinforcement details, loads, and engineer-supplied values.
  • Calculates the required column reinforcement area.
  • Shows the formulas, intermediate results, and references.
  • Produces a printable report in Mongolian.

What stays with the engineer

He sets the assumptions, chooses the reinforcement bars, and reviews the result.

Where we are now

The prototype covers one limited beam-and-column calculation. My partner approved our initial worked example; broader testing comes next.

Our goal is to reduce the repetitive work within that two-hour process. Actual time savings are still to be measured.
